It was a jubilant crowd that witnessed history in making on April 2nd 2011 at Mumbai’s now legendary Wankhede stadium. It was India’s moment to rise and shine at the very top of the world. After all, the Indian cricket team has just won the coveted world cup after 28 years! The moment indeed was a big one. What made it more big for India’s star player Sachin Tendulkar was the presence of his 12 year old son Arjun Tendulkar in the stands cheering for him just like the whole nation!
Sachin Tendulkar, also known as master blaster and currently world’s number one batsman had a lot going on for him that day. Firstly, it would probably be the last world cup for this 37 year old super batsman of India. Secondly, India had a chance of winning the world cup after the fateful win back in 1983. And lastly if he got the chance, Sachin could have made his 100th International Century!
Inspite of the whole India cheering for his favorite cricketer, Sachin might have felt pressure on his strong shoulders. But what eased it a bit was an energetic screaming and cheering coming from the stands of the stadium by none other than his son Arjun Tendulkar.

Junior Tendulkar who recently made his debut in U-13 Cadet Trophy had put on the Indian jersey and was seen boosting his dad’s morale up along with the crowd. TV cameras captured the moment perfectly well and screened it round the stadium which managed to even get Sachin to smile despite of all the high tension drama enfolding on the field!
Luckily, India did manage to secure a world cup win after a span of 28 years and Sachin Tendulkar’s dream of winning the world cup on Indian soil was fulfilled! He couldn’t make his 100th century that day which could have made the day even more historical. But that small glitch was soon smoothened with the presence of both his kids Arjun Tendulkar and Sara Tendulkar besides him during the victory lap. In fact the whole team took it upon themselves to not let Sachin touch his feet on the grounds. He was carried round their shoulder the whole time throughout.

This world cup victory was dedicated to Sachin Tendulkar’s dream, a gift from his fellow teammates. The moment was made more special with Sachin’s prodigal son Arjun Tendulkar expected to achieve similar heights in international cricket someday!
