Ajit Tendulkar- the Building Block behind Sachin’s Success
Everyone today speak highly of Sachin Tendulkar and what a living legend he has become in the world of international cricket. This Indian batsman has taken the cricketing world with storm so much that he gave sleepless nights to many acclaimed bowlers including Australian spinner Shane Warne.
But imagine what would have happened if Sachin wasn’t given a chance to showcase his performance in front of the professionals. Then the world would have surely lost out on an international icon. This is where Ajit Tendulkar, elder brother of Sachin and his coach came in.
Ajit Tendulkar has always been the driving force in Sachin’s life. He was the one who polished and honed the talent of Sachin. He had always been fascinated by the game of cricket. Since childhood he was in love with cricket. He played throughout his schooling and college period as a captain.
Eventually though he gave up his own aspirations and dreams to pursue is a career in cricket for his younger brother Sachin who by then had started showcasing his gift of bat.
Ajit recognized his brother’s talent during they stay in Sahitya Sahawas colony where they both used to play cricket with other children. Soon Ajit took it upon himself to guide and coach Sachin so as to get him ready for international cricket.
Soon Sunil Gavasakar too spotted Sachin and brought him forward to the world of cricket. But much of the thanks should go to Ajit for his rigorous training and endless coaching.
Ajit also wrote a book on Sachin called The Making of Cricketer. Today he feels proud to see his brother’s fame and status in the world. He is an icon in himself.
With junior Tendulkar i.e. Arjun Tendulkar also showing his inclination towards cricket recently who know uncle Ajit might don up the hat of coach once again to train his beloved nephew!

Love at First Sight for Anjali Tendulkar and Sachin Tendulkar
“I first met him at the Mumbai airport when he returned from his first tour of England in 1990, after scoring his maiden Test ton. In fact, when I first saw him at the airport, I didn’t even know who he was. It was purely by accident!”
In a candid interview Anjali Tendulkar admitted of not recognizing the maestro batsman Sachin Tendulkar when they met for the first time.
Anjali had gone to the airport to meet her mom while Sachin was travelling with the Indian cricket team. It was there that the couple saw each other for the first time whereupon Anjali failed to place him at all on account of her zero knowledge of cricket.
Soon after the couple began dating and Anjali started stocking up on cricket magazines for increasing her GK. Though Sachin never liked to discuss cricket at home she confessed later.
Recalling their courtship days, Anjali Tendulkar narrated an incident wherein Sachin went for movie Roza with her under a disguise wearing a beard and specs. It was on account of Sachin’s rising popularity that they could not move freely in public. However, their love met its final destination in 1995 when they tied the knot after 5 years of courtship period.
She promptly gave up her medical career to provide ample support to Sachin’s flourishing career. With him being busy all the time with his international tours, Anjali needed to be home for the couple’s two kids. As a matter of fact, it is because of their excellent parenting that Arjun Tendulkar their son is speedily improving his cricketing skills!
Anjali confessed it’s a tough job to be the wife of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar but both the kids and she have made peace with it and live their life happily together!

Pressures of being Arjun Tendulkar

It happens on very rare occasions that a fate of a child is decided even before he is born. As a matter of fact, it is a boon as well as a sin for the child to follow in the footsteps of his famous celebrity parents. The child in question here is Arjun Tendulkar, the prodigy son of famous maestro batsman Sachin Tendulkar. Like every other family, he is also expected to follow in the footsteps of his father and carry the legacy forward. It is a trend being followed since many decades. It is not restricted to just the field of sports as a matter of fact. You will find children of superstars, corporate giants and other big wigs expected to walk on the path paved by their parents.
Arjun Tendulkar at the mere age of 10 is experiencing tremendous pressure on his small shoulders whenever he lifts up the bat, no matter if it just to swat a fly! The point is as the son of legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar he is expected to pursue cricket as his future career and supposedly become a legend like his father himself. It is quite true that you might share the same interests and talent as your parents. But it has also been proved time and again that success of one generation doesn’t always have to be repeated by the succeeding generation. You can look at the example of previous Indian Cricket team captain Sunil Gavaskar and the mediocre success tasted by his son Rohan Gavaskar.
The pressure is thus immense on Arjun to outshine his father even when he has shown inkling for cricket since his toddler years. One could find him yelling at the top of his lungs for his father during a match! Recently Arjun Tendulkar made headlines in January when he made his cricketing debut at the U-13 Cadency Trophy from MIGC Club in Pune. Although his team lost the cup, the kid showed the same spirit as witnessed in his father Sachin Tendulkar. On Sachin’s part one can observe that although he might have a desire to see his son follow his path, he doesn’t want to put pressure on the child so soon. Arjun has shown equal interest in Badminton sports as well and he gets regular coaching for cricket along with badminton at the behest of his father.
The future expands large in front of both father and son duo and it is only a matter of time when Arjun Tendulkar will face the real world to battle it out for his sake as well as his father’s sake!
